South Coast Glow

I am truly excited that South Coast Glow is becoming a part of numerous events in the Southern California area. It really shows how we are growing and how word of our services is spreading. Over the past few months, we have spray-tanned clients that were at the 2012 Grammys, on the popular TV show “Pawn Stars”, and competing in the California Open! We are continuing to gain recognition for the GLOW we give out! Thanks to all our clients that wear their Glow proudly and speak highly of our services. We truly appreciate it!

Also, for all you Glow Facebook followers, we are launching our new campaign of Facebook deals!!! We will be posting fabulous deals only available to those who follow us. So, for the Glowers that are on Facebook as much as I am (I obviously need to find another hobby!), take advantage of the deals! Oh and don’t worry, we’ll continue to entertain you with our witty posts and ridiculous spray-tan pictures.

 


To all of you expecting mothers, I am commonly asked (always in a shy manner) if pregnant women really continue to spray-tan throughout the months of growth and change in the body. My answer is “absolutely” - we regularly spray-tan the lucky moms-to-be!!!

I have to admit that, when I was expecting, I struggled with some of the changes I went through, and I looked for things that would help me maintain my confidence and make me feel pretty. Spray-tanning was definitely one of those things that kept me feeling beautiful. From personal experience, I encourage all expecting moms to take time for yourselves and ensure you continue doing things that make this period of time as amazing and wonderful as it was meant to be.

And the great news from a health perspective, for those of you who love spray-tanning and are pregnant, is you can feel comfortable continuing with this part of your beauty regimen.*

*We provide you with protection for your eyes, nose, and ears preventing any unnecessary absorption of the solution. It’s a good idea to run your entire beauty regimen by your doctor so you can both be comfortable with what it includes.

Spring Break!!!
Yep, it’s that time of year again; time to sit back, relax and enjoy your well-deserved vacation. The only thing standing in your way of having the best vacation of your life is that dreaded bathing suit that shows off your pasty, pale legs! Being comfortable with your appearance allows you to enjoy that poolside Mai Tai just a little more.

And, just a reminder, book your spray-tan appointment close to your departure date, allowing you to have great color throughout the duration of your vacation.

This holiday season was amazing!!! It all went by so fast I can't believe it is already January. Glow clients were very busy with holiday parties, family gatherings and tropical vacations. I just couldn’t believe how many people took trips this December. Hawaii was by far, the most popular vacation spot for GLOWERS to spend their time. Though I am really jealous, I still CAN'T WAIT to see pictures! Email me pics of you and your spray tan on vacation and we'll post them on our blog!

As mentioned in my last newsletter, we now carry jewelry and scarves at the salon. I have to say these items have been a hit! Clients are seriously lovin’ getting their glow on and doing some personal shopping at the same time. One client fell in love with three bracelets and two scarves all at the same time. Needless to say, this client (who will remain nameless) had to have all five pieces. I will continue searching for these unique pieces to carry. I want to make sure all of you stay in the highest of fashions!

Did you know that exfoliating your skin prior to spray tanning can extend the life of your tan significantly? Spray tanning solution adheres to the layers dead skin cells on the body. The thicker the layer of dead skin cells, the sooner they will rub off. If you exfoliate these layers of skin cells they become shallow and remain on the body for longer periods of time, prolonging your spray tan.

The best way to exfoliate your skin before spray tanning is by using an exfoliating glove or mitt in the shower (ask your Tanologist if you need one!). Avoid exfoliating products that contain oils, these create an oily barrier that will prevent the spray tanning solution from getting to your skin.

All we can say is WOW! The Grand Opening party was a big hit! Thanks to the many South Coast Glow’ers that graced us with their presence and showed their loving support. We shared in yummy appetizers, a little too much champagne and some fabulous conversation. However, the belle of the ball certainly had to be Vito, owner of Fitness Evolution who had all the ladies swooning as he showed off his skills of speaking Italian. The Wednesday night party rocked until after 10pm!

According to the National Cancer Institute more than one million people are diagnosed with non melanoma skin cancer in the U.S. every year. It’s said that 40-50% of all Americans who live to age of 65 will have this form of skin cancer at least once in their lives.

These are startling statistics for a cancer that for the most part can be prevented!
